How do I get involved with MN Women in AI?
Start wherever feels right. Subscribe to our Substack for regular event announcements and AI updates, join our Slack community for daily conversations with 500+ members, or jump straight into a membership for full access to everything we offer. You can also just show up to an event — no commitment required.

Do I have to be a member to attend events?
No! Our events are open to guests. Come experience the community before committing to a membership. We'd love to meet you!
Where do your events take place?
Most of our in-person events are in the Twin Cities metro area. We also host virtual events that are open to women across the Midwest and beyond. Check our events page or Substack for specific locations and details.


Do I need to have a technical background to join?
Not at all. MN Women in AI welcomes women across all functions — sales, marketing, strategy, data, product, engineering, and everything in between. We even have educators, real estate agents, and Emmy Award Winning filmmakers and journalists! If AI is relevant to your work or career, you belong here.
How technical are the events?
We label every event so you always know what you're walking into:
For Everyone — No technical background needed. These events explore how AI is impacting specific industries and fields. If you're curious about AI, you'll get something out of it.
Entry Level — Perfect if you're just getting started. Think chatbots, prompting, generating images, and building your AI foundation.
Intermediate — For members ready to go deeper. Vibe coding, more advanced AI tools, and hands-on building sessions.
Advanced — Our most technical tier, covering topics like building AI agents, complex AI systems, and cutting-edge tools. Coming soon!
Whatever your starting point, there's a place for you at MWAI.


Is MN Women in AI only for people who work in AI?
No — it's for anyone who wants to understand, use, or lead with AI in their field. Our members come from Fortune 500 companies, universities, startups, and everything in between.
Is MN Women in AI only for women?
Our community is built by and centered around women in AI, but we welcome allies who are committed to supporting women's advancement in the field. If you're here to learn, connect, and lift others up — you're welcome here. (Our only exception is the AI Study Group which is ladies only.


Is MN Women in AI inclusive of all women?
Yes, fully. MN Women in AI is an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming community that welcomes women of all backgrounds, industries, and experience levels. We work intentionally to build a space where every woman feels seen and belongs.
Do you have to be based in Minnesota?

What's the difference between attending events and being a member?
Event attendance is open to everyone. Membership unlocks more access — mastermind groups, member matching, Builder Workshops, mentorship, weekly local AI updates, and exclusive Executive Insider benefits.
What are the membership tiers?
We offer three tiers: Rising Star ($15/mo or $180/yr, for members under 30), North Star Member ($588/yr, our most popular), and Executive Insider ($1,800/yr). Each tier includes increasing access to events, community features, mentorship, and more.


Can my company pay for my membership?
Yes! We even offer corporate membership options for teams. Reach out to us for custom pricing.
When was MN Women in AI founded?
Caroline Swift Holden founded MN Women in AI in July 2025 after posting on LinkedIn about the need for a community like this in Minnesota — and the response was overwhelming. Within months the community had hundreds of members and a full event calendar.

MN Women in AI is founded and led by Caroline Swift Holden and brought to you by Swift Start Go. We are supported by a volunteer advisory board of 16 incredible women across AI, tech, marketing, education, and more.
Are you affiliated with any universities or corporations?
We are an independent, for-profit community organization. We have members from universities and corporations across Minnesota but operate independently.
